U.S. Congress
S, 4460, Rural Community Hospital Demonstration Program Reauthorization: Supports hospital systems in rural areas by extending a Medicare reimbursement model for five additional years. According to the American Hospital Association, eligible hospital facilities are those that are not considered critical access hospitals because they have under 51 beds. This bill passed unanimously in the Senate on Wednesday and now heads to the House.

H.R. 2616, PROTECT Kids Act: If an elementary or middle school student wishes to make changes to their gender identity on school forms, parental approval must be obtained first. Actions requiring parental approval include pronoun changes, preferred names or other sex-based accommodations, such as locker rooms and bathrooms. This bill passed 217-198 in the House on Wednesday and now heads to the Senate.
