Market merchants in Benin put together for troublesome transition as sprawling Dontokpa market faces closure

In Southern Benin, the massively fashionable Dantokpa market, one of many largest open-air markets within the area, is dealing with closure. Since June, authorities have been encouraging merchants to make the shift from Dantokpa to new and extra trendy markets which have opened throughout Cotonou, warning that the location is a fireplace hazard and safety danger.
