Annual UAMS Health Little Rock Open serves up free week of world-class tennis

Tennis fans in Little Rock can grab their sunscreen and settle in for a full week of high-level action as the 2026 UAMS Health Little Rock Open returns with free admission and a lineup of some of the world’s top men’s singles and doubles talent.

The Association of Tennis Professionals Tour tournament begins May 24 at Rebsman Tennis Center and runs through May 31. Festivities get an early start Friday with a one-point singles showdown.

The event is part of the ATP Challenger Tour, a level often compared to the minor leagues in other sports. Chip Stearns, director for the tournament, described it this way: “The challenger event pro tennis tournament, which is basically like the equivalent of AAA baseball. So, it’s the players in the world that are right at the cusp of the very top level, the people that you see on TV when you’re watching tennis. So these guys are ranked anywhere between about 130 in the world to about 350 in the world in this particular tournament.”

UAMS is hosting the tournament again this year, with proceeds benefiting the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute’s bone marrow transplant program.

The 2026 tournament marks the 45th year Little Rock has hosted the event and the sixth year it has been an ATP Challenger Tour stop. An opening ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, May 26 at 6 p.m.
