Believe it or not, we’ve already arrived in May, bringing with it a fresh wave of fashion news and events, alongside a brisk autumnal chill.
The 2026 Met Gala is now behind us, with the red carpet seeing fashion’s most influential names ascend the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in looks that offered plenty to discuss, dissect and, at times, delight in.
Back on home soil, Australian Fashion Week is fast approaching, with designers including AJE, Courtney Zheng and Maticevski set to present. And with the month already gathering pace, there has been no shortage of movement across the industry, from boutique openings to milestone anniversaries and new collection drops.
Consider this your guide to everything you might have missed.

ALO’s First Australian Store
Luxury Los Angeles wellness brand ALO has officially landed in Australia, opening the doors of its first Sydney sanctuary at Chatswood Chase on May 22. Known for its premium studio-to-street aesthetic rooted in mind-body wellness, ALO marks its Australian debut with a 315-square-metre space featuring a limestone façade, white-washed wood ceilings and organic textures inspired by the brand’s Air, Land, Ocean philosophy. Far from a traditional retail store, the Chatswood Chase sanctuary is designed as an immersive wellness destination, with grand opening weekend (May 22–24) set to include acro yoga, a live DJ set and ear seeding activations.

Calvin Klein X Jung Kook
Calvin Klein has dropped its most personal collaboration yet, partnering with global brand ambassador and BTS star Jung Kook on a limited-edition 20-piece capsule — his first ever fashion collaboration. Rooted in the brand’s denim and underwear icons, the men’s and women’s collection channels Jung Kook’s biker obsession through 90s trucker jackets, low-rise baggy and straight-leg denim, racer jackets and graphic tees, all finished with distressed detailing, racing stripes, hidden embroidery and custom washes that give each piece a distinctly personal edge.

LOEWE’s New Chatswood Store
Spanish luxury house LOEWE has opened its latest Australian boutique at the newly redeveloped Chatswood Chase on Sydney’s North Shore, welcoming shoppers from April 30. Spanning 185 square metres, the space follows the brand’s signature CASA LOEWE design concept — a richly layered interior where handcrafted ceramic tiles in off-white, dark blue and reflective silver move across walls, podiums and bespoke furnishings, grounded by smooth concrete flooring and marble elements in Cristallo Iceberg and Blue Bahia.
