Nationwide Transmission Firm South Africa (NTCSA), the nationwide grid operator that’s being corporatised and separated from Eskom, has appointed a variety of native contractors that may assist “speed up infrastructure roll-out”.
In an announcement late on Tuesday, NTCSA stated it has signed long-term agreements with 19 firms to assist it develop the nationwide grid because the electrical energy market in South Africa is liberalised, permitting new energy era firms onto the grid.
The contractors will present engineering, procurement and development (EPC); procurement and development (PC); and development companies. 5 firms had been signed on for EPC, 9 for PC and 17 for development.
