Namibia’s state-owned electrical energy supplier has signed a pact with Chinese language corporations to construct what would be the nation’s largest photo voltaic photovoltaic plant.

China Jiangxi Worldwide Financial and Technical and Zhejiang Chint New Power Growth will engineer and construct the 100MW Rosh Pinah plant that’s estimated to price about N$1.6-billion (R1.6-billion) and can assist the nation turn into self-sufficient for its energy wants, Nampower mentioned in an e-mailed assertion on Monday.

A mortgage from German state-owned improvement financial institution KfW will cowl nearly 80% of the price, with the remainder coming from Nampower’s stability sheet, it mentioned.
