A lady who was subjected as a toddler to Feminine Genital Mutilation has spoken to FRANCE 24 concerning the violence and torture she was compelled to endure. Leyla Hussein is a psychotherapist who now specialises in supporting survivors of sexual abuse. She grew up in Somalia, the place she was subjected to FGM on the age of seven. It wasn’t till she was dwelling in London and gave start to her first baby that she realised what had occurred to her. She spoke to us in Perspective as a part of our protection of the Worldwide Day for the Elimination of Violence towards Ladies.
