Young boy rushed to hospital, 20 displaced after Mt. Healthy apartment fire

A child was taken to the hospital and 20 people were displaced from their homes after a fire at a Mount Healthy apartment building on Thursday.The fire broke out in the 7800 block of Harrison Avenue around 4 p.m.Fire officials said an adult was treated at the scene and the child, a boy, was taken to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.The child’s condition wasn’t released on Thursday evening.An officer and a firefighter who ran into the building were both treated for smoke inhalation at the hospital and have since been released. The fire was put out by 5 p.m. and investigators haven’t released more information on what caused the fire.”It was bad, it was bad,” neighbor Sheena Ray said. “One lady says it was just fire coming out of the back windows.” In the aftermath of the fire, hearts and minds are focused on the young boy and his family.”I just just wish the little boy is okay,” Ray said. “That’s my main concern. I just hope he’s okay. I don’t know, but I just hope.” Officials said 20 people were displaced by the fire, and the American Red Cross is helping the families who were impacted.
