MILLBROOK, Ala. (WAKA) — Springfield Missionary Baptist Church will host its third annual Community Health Fair on Saturday, May 30 offering free health screenings and family-friendly activities for area residents.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church on Deatsville Highway in Millbrook.
Organizers said the free event is designed to encourage people to take a more active role in their health and wellness. Attendees will have access to blood pressure checks, cholesterol screenings, diabetes screenings and dental screenings.
Free snacks and drinks will also be available, along with activities for all ages.
Event organizers Denise Riley Mitchell and Cynthia Crosby Williams spoke with Action 8’s Estee Morrison about the importance of preventive health care and routine screenings in the interview above.
